What is included in the Grangers Footwear Care Kit?
The kit contains 275ml Footwear + Gear Cleaner, 275ml Footwear Repel Plus, a footwear brush and 100ml Odour Eliminator. Together, they provide everything needed to clean, refresh and reproof outdoor footwear.
What types of footwear and materials can I use it on?
It is suitable for winter boots, walking boots, outdoor shoes and other footwear made from leather, suede, nubuck or fabric. It can also be safely used on footwear incorporating breathable membranes such as GORE-TEX® and eVent®.
How do I clean and reproof my boots?
Remove the laces and use the footwear brush to remove loose or dried mud. Apply the cleaner and wipe it away with a clean, damp cloth. While the footwear is still clean and damp, spray Footwear Repel Plus evenly over the upper, remove any excess and allow the boots to dry naturally before wearing them.
How often should footwear be cleaned and reproofed?
There is no fixed timetable. Clean your footwear whenever dirt and mud begin to build up. If water no longer beads on the surface after cleaning and the upper starts to absorb moisture, it is probably time to apply Footwear Repel Plus.
Will Footwear Repel Plus make any pair of boots waterproof?
No. It restores and strengthens the water-repellent finish of suitable footwear, but it cannot repair cracked materials, damaged seams or leaking membranes. Nor can it turn footwear that was not originally waterproof into fully waterproof boots.
Why is caring for footwear better than simply replacing it?
Regular cleaning prevents dirt from affecting breathability and performance, while reproofing renews protection from wet weather. Combined with timely repairs and replacement parts where available, proper care can extend the useful life of trusted footwear, save money and reduce unnecessary waste.
