Understanding Olang OCSystem® Ice Grip Boots

Many Olang winter boots feature the OCSystem® retractable ice grip system built directly into the outsole. The metal traction elements can be activated when additional grip is required on icy or compacted surfaces and retracted again when conditions change.

This makes OCSystem-equipped Olang boots particularly useful for journeys involving a mixture of icy pavements, cleared paths, transport, shops and indoor environments, without having to repeatedly remove a separate stretch-on ice grip.

Olang Waterproof and Water-Resistant Winter Boots

Weather protection varies between Olang models, so it is important to check the individual product specification rather than assume that every winter boot offers the same level of protection.

ICEGRIPPER lists a number of Olang models with waterproof BTX construction, while many TEX and OlanTex styles are described as water resistant. Both can be highly practical in winter, but a fully waterproof model may be the better choice where prolonged exposure to rain, slush or standing water is expected.

Olang Boot Care, Fit & Long-Term Support

Olang sizing and fit can vary between models, particularly across different boot heights and constructions. ICEGRIPPER therefore provides model-specific fitting guidance wherever possible to help customers select the most appropriate size.

Regular cleaning and suitable reproofing can also help maintain the appearance and weather protection of leather, suede, nubuck and textile uppers. This remains worthwhile even where a waterproof membrane is fitted, because keeping the outer material clean and water repellent helps the whole boot perform more effectively.
