Why Guide Books Matter

Whether you're tackling the Tour du Mont Blanc or exploring lesser-known trails, a reliable guidebook is an essential companion. ICEGRIPPER’s Guide Book selection covers a range of treks, including winter walking routes and high-altitude adventures. These books provide detailed maps, safety tips, and expert insights to help you plan and navigate challenging landscapes with confidence.

The Role of Micro Crampons

Many of the walks featured in ICEGRIPPER’s guidebooks require Micro Crampons, especially during early-season (May & June) and late-season (October). These lightweight traction devices offer stability on icy paths, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable trekking experience. ICEGRIPPER stocks a variety of Micro Crampons, including models designed for speed hiking, trail running, and general winter use.

Where Do You Want to Go?

Planning a day walk. multi day hike or a weekly trek? Here’s a small selection of some of the destinations our guide books cover and our suggestions for appropriate traction products:

Tour Mont Blanc with ICEGRIPPER guide books

Tour du Mont BlancTHE classic trek with varied high altitude terrain, this walk attracts visitors from around the globe. As you might have seen from our social posts, there are sections of snow and ice cover, even as this post is being written approaching Mid June. This trek is the Daddy and deserves the OG micro crampon, so we'd recommend: Kahtoola MICROspikes

Tour of Monte Rosa – Features some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the Alps, including 7 of the 10 highest Alpine peaks. Early-season conditions can be challenging and with 2 Glacier Crossings opt for: Kahtoola KTS Crampons to handle icy sections.

Gran Paradiso National Park – Our guide book '30 Day Walks' lists lower altitude routes where micro crampons may or may not be needed. So go light and low profile. Our choice would be: ICEGRIPPER Runspikes

With ICEGRIPPER’s Guide Book section and Micro Crampons, you’ll be well-equipped to tackle any adventure. Ready to plan your next trek? Explore the full collection HERE and find the perfect traction gear HERE
