The Jura Crest Trail delivers one wondrous panorama after another as you ascend, traverse and descend summits and mountain passes along the 310km route.

This guide book details the Jura Crest Trail or Cretes du Jura (also known as the Jura High Route), traversing the undulating limestone plateau of the Swiss Jura. The 310km trail, from Dielsdorf near Zurich to Nyon on Lac Leman (Lake Geneva), is presented in 14 day stages and boasts great scenery and rich natural, historical and geological interest.

OVERVIEW

The guidebook describes the route east to west in 14 stages, each between 12 and 32km (7–20 miles) in length. The Jura mountains form a range of ancient folded strata, creating an arc from the Rhine Valley in the north-east to the Rhône valley in the south-west, along the border between Switzerland and France.

12-, 16- and 21-day alternate itineraries are also outlined to allow you to plan the schedule that suits you. Throughout the 14 stages of the Jura Crest Trail, there are several options to choose from, enabling the hiker to select the most appropriate. Because the Trail is fairly close to civilisation, there is always accommodation available either on, or near, the trail.

  • 📋 Advice on planning and preparation
  • 🗺️ 1:100,000 maps included for each stage
  • 🛏️ Detailed information about accommodation, refreshments and public transport along the route
  • 🏔️ Highlights include Creux du Van and the medieval towns of Baden and Brugg
