ICEGRIPPER Utilises AI for new ICE GRIP FINDER Tool

You've probably heard of AI (Artificial Intelligence)? Up to now AI has been widely misunderstood and portrayed negatively. If Hollywood is to be believed AI is allowing evil machines to take over the world..!

So, let's look at what AI actually is...

One definition is: 'The theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence'

The study of AI began in the 1950s, and it has improved dramatically over time with better statistical methods and greater computing power. AI is now used for all sorts of things, such as intelligent opponents in video games, accurate medical diagnosis, speech commands on mobile phones, and keeping email inboxes clear of spam. People who use AI often want it to perform repetitive tasks that take a lot of time for a person to do, or to solve problems which are difficult to solve with a calculator. For example, AI can be used to:

• Count cells in a microscope picture
• Find the optimum number of taxis that a city needs
• Intelligently guess the products that someone may want to buy
• Read the license plates of cars in a video
• Predict the quantity of ingredients a restaurant needs to order to minimize waste, but not run out of stock.

AI software has become more widely available and cost effective so we thought we should test it out at ICEGRIPPER and developed a new ICE GRIP FINDER tool. It uses simple AI software to (sort of..) replicate how we would advise a customer on what sort of ice grips they would need, if they weren't sure. You can check it out by clicking HERE
