Some runs demand more than the bare essentials—but not a full-size running pack. The INSTINCT AMBITION 4.5L finds that useful middle ground. It provides 1.4L more carrying capacity than the INSTINCT PX 3.1L while adding only 30g, giving you valuable extra room for hydration, food, waterproofs, a spare layer and safety equipment. Weighing just 190g, AMBITION is designed for trail training and racing from 10km to 70km. AMBITION comes with 2 x 600ml Soft Flasks.

A secure, highly adjustable fit

AMBITION sits high on the body, keeping its contents close and comfortably balanced while you run. Two sternum straps move along 20cm sliders, allowing their height and tension to be adjusted independently. INSTINCT’s double-S elastic side-lacing can also be tightened or relaxed while moving, helping the one-size vest accommodate different body shapes and changes in clothing layers. The lightweight honeycomb mesh promotes ventilation and helps disperse heat and moisture during harder efforts.

Your essentials stay within reach

The storage layout is designed around access on the move. Hydration and nutrition sit high at the front, while waterproofs, safety equipment and spare essentials stay within reach. The storage layout is designed clothing can be organised across the rear pockets.

Multiple pole-carrying options

Poles can be carried vertically on either side at the front or horizontally across the back. AMBITION is also compatible with the INSTINCT Ergo Quiver, available separately.

Made for changeable winter routes

The additional capacity makes AMBITION particularly useful for winter trail running, when gloves, a headtorch, waterproof clothing and emergency layers may all be needed. There is also room for compact winter traction on routes where conditions may change. Always keep spikes or micro-crampons inside a separate protective storage bag to prevent their metal points damaging the vest or other equipment.
