When distance, weather and equipment requirements increase, a conventional lightweight vest may no longer provide enough capacity or protection.

The INSTINCT EKLIPSE provides 2L more storage than the INSTINCT X 10L while adding 83g. This additional capacity is combined with a water-resistant rear storage system designed to help protect clothing, safety equipment and other important kit in demanding conditions.

Its 12L capacity makes EKLIPSE suitable for long training days, ultra and XL-distance races, adventure racing, fast-and-light outings and day or weekend trekking.

Choose between the standard INSTINCT EKLIPSE 12L and the limited-edition EKLIPSE Black. The Black Edition has a discreet black finish with reflective charcoal logos. Both versions use the same 12L construction, 380g weight, storage layout, hydration system and adjustment features.

A stable, highly adjustable fit

EKLIPSE sits high on the body, helping to keep its contents stable, balanced and close to your centre of movement.

Two sternum straps move independently along 20cm sliders, providing vertical and horizontal adjustment. INSTINCT’s double-S elastic side-lacing can be tightened or relaxed while running, helping the one-size vest accommodate different body shapes and changes in clothing layers.

Lightweight 3D honeycomb mesh encourages ventilation and moisture dispersal without sacrificing the strength needed for long-distance use.

Weather-resistant rear storage

The distinctive EKLIPSE rear compartment forms a flexible, 360° water-resistant shell around the principal storage areas.

Its protected 2L vertical pocket and 3.7L main compartment are constructed from lightweight 30D Nylon 6.6 Cordura ripstop with a silicone lining and waterproof zips. This helps shield spare clothing, mandatory race equipment and other important kit from rain, spray and changeable mountain weather.

The protected storage is divided into separate compartments, allowing wet or frequently used equipment to be kept away from items that need greater protection.

Wide-opening access and internal organisation

The 3.7L main compartment opens through a wide, door-style zip rather than a narrow opening at the top of the vest.

This provides a clearer view of the contents and makes it easier to pack or retrieve larger items. Five internal mesh compartments help separate clothing, safety equipment, nutrition and smaller essentials, while a zipped overlay pocket provides direct access to items needed more frequently.

Choose your hydration system

Two high-mounted front hydration pockets each accommodate containers up to 650ml. Elastic compression cords with auto-locks hold the containers securely and can be tightened as their contents are consumed.

ICEGRIPPER supplies EKLIPSE with 2 x 600ml soft flasks, providing 1.2L of immediately accessible front-mounted hydration.

For longer and more remote routes, the rear compartment is compatible with a hydration bladder of up to 2L, giving you the flexibility to select the hydration arrangement that best suits your distance and conditions.

The front of the vest provides extensive storage for nutrition, a phone, safety essentials and other items required while moving.

Two 600ml food pockets accommodate gels, snacks and ultra-distance nutrition. Additional hidden, overlay and zipped storage provides separate spaces for a smartphone and smaller essentials.

Two zipped 150ml shoulder pockets provide further secure and accessible storage. Internal retaining loops help prevent small items from being dropped.

Accessible rear storage

A 1.5L upper horizontal pocket keeps waterproof clothing close to hand and can be reached without completely removing the vest.

Two overlapping lower pockets provide a further 1.5L of storage. The lower pocket can be accessed from either side while wearing the vest, making it useful for gloves, a hat, waterproof trousers or equipment that may be required quickly.

Elastic compression cords help stabilise the rear load as the quantity of clothing, food or other equipment changes.

Running poles can be carried vertically at the front on either side, or horizontally, vertically or diagonally across the back.

EKLIPSE is also compatible with the INSTINCT Ergo Quiver for runners who prefer a dedicated quick-access pole system. Ergo Quiver sold separately.

External carrying options

Additional attachment points allow bulky equipment to be secured outside the vest. Depending on the activity, these points can accommodate items such as a sleeping mat, compact sleeping bag, small tent or helmet. This extends the versatility of EKLIPSE beyond ultra running to adventure races, fastpacking and lightweight trekking.

Built for winter and demanding conditions

The combination of 12L capacity and weather-resistant storage makes EKLIPSE particularly useful for winter trail running and exposed mountain routes.

There is space for waterproof clothing, insulated layers, gloves, headtorch and spare batteries, additional food, emergency equipment and compact winter traction. Separate compartments help keep wet outer layers away from dry clothing and more vulnerable equipment.

Always carry ice grips, running spikes or micro-crampons inside a separate protective storage bag. This prevents their metal points from damaging the vest, soft flasks or other equipment.

WATER-RESISTANT STORAGE
