The INSTINCT EVOLUTION 7L provides 2.5L more capacity than the INSTINCT AMBITION while adding only 20g. That extra space makes room for additional hydration, nutrition, waterproofs, spare clothing, safety equipment and winter accessories without turning the vest into a conventional running pack.

Its adaptable 7L capacity makes EVOLUTION equally useful for long training days, mountain routes and ultra-distance events where conditions and kit requirements may change.

EVOLUTION sits high on the body, keeping the load close, balanced and stable while allowing freedom of movement.

Two sternum straps move independently along 20cm sliders, providing vertical and horizontal adjustment. INSTINCT’s double-S elastic side-lacing can also be tightened or relaxed while moving, helping the one-size vest accommodate different body shapes and changes in clothing layers.

Lightweight honeycomb mesh encourages airflow and moisture dispersal, while the low-contact design helps reduce the hot, restrictive feeling associated with larger running packs.

Choose your hydration system

EVOLUTION gives you the flexibility to run with soft flasks, bottles or a hydration bladder.

Two high-mounted front hydration pockets each accommodate up to 650ml, keeping drinks visible and easy to reach. Elastic compression cords with auto-locks help secure the containers and reduce unwanted movement as their contents are consumed.

For longer days, the rear compartment is compatible with a hydration bladder of up to 1.5L.

The storage arrangement is designed around access while moving.

Large front pockets keep food, gels and frequently used items close to hand. A dedicated shoulder pocket provides secure storage for small safety essentials and incorporates a whistle.

At the rear, separate upper, lower and vertical compartments help organise waterproofs, spare layers, a headtorch, gloves and safety equipment. The upper horizontal pocket is positioned so a rain jacket can be reached quickly without removing the vest.

Running poles can be carried vertically at the front on either side, or horizontally, vertically or diagonally across the back.

EVOLUTION is also compatible with the INSTINCT Ergo Quiver for runners who prefer a dedicated quick-access pole system. Ergo Quiver sold separately.

The 7L capacity is particularly useful for winter trail running, when gloves, waterproof clothing, a headtorch, emergency layers and additional food may all be required.

There is also space for compact ice grips or running traction when a route moves between clear, frozen and snow-covered terrain. Always place spikes or micro-crampons inside a separate protective storage bag so their metal points cannot damage the vest, soft flasks or other equipment.
