Every day brings something different. A quick conversation about boot sizing can turn into a fascinating exchange about trekking in Patagonia, running an ultramarathon across a frozen lake, or navigating the icy gangways of an Arctic cruise ship. It never gets old.
Just yesterday, for example, I spoke to four very different customers in the space of a single afternoon:
A walker heading to the northern Kenyan Savannah, buying Kahtoola INSTAgaiters to protect against thorny scrub and uneven terrain on a bush walking holiday. Not your typical winter traction application — but exactly the kind of versatile, lightweight protection Kahtoola gaiters are built for.
A runner preparing for the Spine Ultramarathon — one of Britain's most brutal winter races, following the Pennine Way in January. They needed traction they could trust at 3am on an icy moorland path, in the dark, alone. No pressure.
A couple booking an Arctic cruise with Hurtigruten, wanting boots that would keep them safe on icy ship decks and shore excursions in Svalbard. ICEGRIPPER Boots with OC System anti-slip soles were the obvious answer — warm, waterproof, and grippy when it matters most.
And finally, a regular customer stocking up ahead of their annual ski holiday — not for the slopes, but for the icy village streets, après-ski walks, and transfer days when grip matters just as much as style.
This kind of diversity is what makes ICEGRIPPER genuinely different. We're not a one-product, one-season business. Our customers include commuters navigating icy pavements, dog walkers on frosty fields, outdoor workers on construction sites, trail runners, mountaineers, and — as it turns out — performers in Mexico's version of Disney on Ice. Yes, really. One of our customers bought ICESPIKE specifically for that purpose. I still smile every time I think about it.
If you want to fall down a rabbit hole of brilliant customer stories, I'd recommend our Unexpected Uses article and our Customer Stories series — the Golf Wellies story alone is worth five minutes of your time.
What I love most is that customers ring us, email us, or chat to us on the website — and we actually know the answers. Not because we've read a script, but because we've had the same conversation with someone heading to the same place, or doing the same thing, dozens of times before. That accumulated knowledge is genuinely useful, and customers tell us they appreciate it.
So whether you're heading to the mountains, the desert, the Arctic, the African bush, or somewhere we've never heard of — give us a call, drop us an email, or use the chat on the website. We love talking about this stuff. It's literally our favourite part of the job.
Walk, work, run and play on winter ice and snow with ICEGRIPPER.
